All individuals departing from Australia and visiting any foreign port must be in possession of a valid passport. If your passport is due to expire within six months of your return back into Australia, you should obtain a new passport. Should you be travelling on anything other than an Australian Passport then it is your responsibility to bring this to our attention as you may require a visa or permit to re-enter Australia or any other country the ship may visit. Names on the travel documents must match exactly the names as written on the passport which will be taken from the booking form.
Certain countries require a Visa for entry prior to arrival. Please ensure you are fully informed of the requirements before you make a reservation. Visas are the responsibility of all passengers travelling.
Cruises.com.au do not advise on Visa requirements for any passengers.
Alternatively please contact the Embassy or Consulate of the countries you plan to visit.
Please note that Visa’s may be required for Countries where a ship visits, even if you are not planning to disembark the ship you may still require a visa to board. Failure to have the correct documentation may result in denied boarding. Cruises.com.au accepts no liability should you fail to obtain the correct visa before departing Australia.
Vaccinations are recommended for certain destinations. Please contact your local GP or the Travel doctor ( www.traveldoctor.com.au ) who will advise you of these requirements. Please note that some vaccinations may be required weeks in advance of travelling.
It is strongly recommended that Travel insurance is taken out when travelling onboard cruise ships. Whether it be a short cruise to nowhere or an around the world voyage. There are many options to consider when taking out a policy and it is recommended that you take out a policy that suits you and your travelling companion’s requirements, including any pre-existing conditions.
Travel Insurance should cover a minimum of loss of deposit and other monies lost through cancellation.
Medical expenses whilst onboard the ship, as well as overseas can be surprisingly expensive and are NOT covered by Medicare nor any Private Health Cover. This is also the case for short domestic cruises even the 1-3 night cruise samplers.
Please Note: For Australian Coastal Cruises, Sampler Cruises, New Zealand or South Pacific cruises, please select "Indonesia and South West Pacific (South West Pacific Cruise)". To be covered for a cruise, please click "Yes" to cruise cover and pay an extra premium.
Please Note: Occasionally some destinations, or even cruise lines may insist on passengers having appropriate travel insurance cover before entry or boarding. For example, in November 2018 New Caledonian authorities advised that guests who do not hold travel insurance covering medical expenses and repatriation may be refused entry into New Caledonia. Cruises.com.au will endeavor to inform our clients of such restrictions when and if possible; however, we strongly advise all our clients to research their destination’s travel insurance requirements to ensure appropriate travel insurance is in place to avoid any disappointment or added expense.
Before you make any decisions about the product, you should read the Financial Services Guide/Product Disclosure Statement carefully to ensure that it is suitable for you.
