Lucky Betty
Monday March 8, 2010

Classic International Cruises (CIC) has celebrated a huge milestone – carrying their 50,000th passenger since they began annual summer operations six years ago.
The lucky passenger Betty Quick, who travelled with her husband, Joseph, from Denmark, was surprised to receive the honour as they boarded Athena in Fremantle at the end of February for a 24-night return cruise to Asia. For being the 50,000th passenger on board Betty and her husband were awarded a five-night cruise to be taken next year on board Athena. According to Betty, the prize will be the couple';s eighth cruise with CIC.
Currently the 550-passenger Athena is the only ship servicing the Western Australian and South Australian waters during the summer season, after she took over from smaller CIC ship Funchal in 2008. The summer of 2010/11 will be CIC';s seventh annual season in Australia.
