Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman will be the godmother of Avalon Felicity, to be christened in the Netherlands village of Volendam on March 27.
Avalon Waterways Managing Director Patrick Clark was enthused about the decision saying Brueggergosman is a symbol of ';happiness to all who are lucky enough to hear her';. The singer has reached worldwide fame after performing at the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, with more than 3.2 billion people tuning in to the television spectacle.
Avalon Felicity, Avalon Waterways'; 10th new ship in six years, will feature 65 staterooms and four junior suites, a fully equipped fitness room, library, hair salon, gift shop, club lounge and Jacuzzi, and is sure to be a destination in herself.
