Cruise West

Intimate cruising with Cruise West allows for a more personal experience while visiting some of the world’s most historically significant sites.

The Cruise West advantage: smaller is better. Cruise West’s international fleet of nine small ships is thoughtfully designed to deliver up-close experiences that no large vessel can offer. With more than 60 years of travel experience, we’ve perfected the best way to observe the world’s natural beauty and cultures.

Cruise West is a second-generation, family-owned company that enables travellers to explore remote locations not accessible to larger cruise ships. Cruise West’s smaller ships hold only 78-146 guests, encouraging congenial interaction between guests and crew and creating a relaxed environment.

All ships have forward lounges and ample outdoor deck space for viewing and photographing wildlife and scenery. In combination with our own shore excursions and land tours in the company of seasoned, onboard Exploration Leaders, there is simply no better way to travel. A popular European itinerary is a cruise along the beautiful Danube to one of the youngest seas on Earth, the Black Sea.

Cruise the historically romantic Danube River to the Black Sea, from Vienna to Bucharest, sailing gracefully through six countries along the way. The site of some of the earliest Old World cultures, you’ll discover well-preserved medieval towns and beautiful landscapes along this major trade route used since the Middle Ages.

Dining

Full services for breakfast, lunch and dinner are available in the main dining room on all vessels and a continental breakfast is also offered in the lounge each morning. Cruise West believes fresh is best. This leads to the philosophy of purchasing sustainable food and purchasing locally whenever possible. On all cruises, chefs are encouraged to incorporate ingredients that are locally grown, processed or manufactured.

Accomodation

All cabins on board are outward facing, spacious (48m2) and are equipped with two twin beds, shower, wash basin and bathroom facilities, air-conditioning, direct-dial telephone, colour TV with satellite programs. French balconies with windows that stretch across the whole cabin are featured in 80 per cent of staterooms.

Highlights

One of the most popular excursions is a city tour of the heart of old Vienna, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Head back to the ship to enjoy lunch on board. The afternoon is free for you to spend at your leisure to discover more of Vienna on your own. Prior to setting sail on the Danube River the mood is set by a classical music performance onboard.
